Chronic Disorder: The Drums Of War PBS 154: CHRONIC DISORDER - The Drums Of War (LP)

Detail from cassette release shown.

Seinfeld@goplay.com (the incredible webmeister here) writes: I finally listened to the Chronic Disorder tape. It reminded me so much of recent Sponge or Live with some elements of old Xymoxx... hard to beleive these guys never made it. If you want my own endorsement for a CD re-release, that's the one.

robbiefields@hotmail.com replies :
If somebody has a spare copy of the Chronic Disorder CD, could they send it along , please? Obviously, I liked the band enough to put out their record; unfortunately, it was horribly unsuccessful outside their own neighborhood in Connecticut and the group grew to despise me for my inepitude at delivering them greater success ( a common theme in the Posh Boy annals). When Sounds Good/Chameleon offered me thousands of their records, tapes and CDs at cut-out prices, I passed. Tender Fury I bought and still have a mini mountain of their records. Hey seinfeld ! Since you like them so much, how about writing and uploading the track listings?

Circle Jerks: Wild in the Streets 7" MT- 262: CIRCLE JERKS - Wild In The Streets (45)
This is the picture sleeve from the Musical Tragedies German 7" saw-blade release (MT cat# MT-262). Musical Tragedies came up with the idea to do shaped 7" discs, the shape being that of a saw blade; it's doubtful that a U.S. company could get away with manufacturing such records, the edges of the record are very sharp! Offering value for money, the other side of the disc contains the Adolescents' Amoeba (PBS-6). The U.S. single versions of both records were "A" side only, the "B" side being an unplayable etching.

Paul Cortese: Suites and Sonata - Reger PBCD 8167-2: PAUL CORTESE - Suites & Sonata - Reger (CD)(IP)

Paul Cortese has become one of the world's outstanding viola players. This recording of Max Reger compositions is Cortese at his expressive best.

Originally discretely listed as "New York Surprise", this rendition of the Leiber/Stoller classic was destined to become one of the biggest hits of 1980 on the ZE label when it was withdrawn owing to a copyright dispute. Included on the pre-1992 The Best of Rodney On The Roq compact disc.

The Crowd: Modern Machine b/w Suzy is a Surf Rocker 7" PBS 29: THE CROWD - Modern Machine / Suzy is a Surf Rocker (45)(IP)
The Crowd's MODERN MACHINE was a minor hit with no small thanks to Rodney Bingenheimer at KROQ in Pasadena, California. The archival picture used for the 1990 retro single release catches Jim Trash (Decker) at his physical best. To hang out with The Crowd in the Huntington Beach of 1979 was California bliss. Now, tell me, what connection is there between the London punk rock of '77 and its anemic looking beggars with spiked hair and the 100% cotton, crew-cut surfers brought up on a diet of Bob's Big Boy hamburgers?

The Crowd: A World Apart LP PBS 108: THE CROWD - A World Apart (LP)
Little did we know that after A WORLD APART, we wouldn't see another Crowd album for nine long years
