Adolescents: Amoeba PBS 6: ADOLESCENTS -Amoeba (45)

This is the original version of the song, first released in November 1980 on Rodney On The Roq.
A huge hit on L.A.'s KROQ radio station in December 1980, Posh Boy presented members of the group with gold singles at a show at The Starwood club in early 1981, even though the record was not to be released as an actual single until 1990.

The song was later re-recorded by The Adolescents for their Frontier Records "Blue" album release in 1981.

Agent Orange: Everything Turns Grey PBS 12: AGENT ORANGE - Everything Turns Grey (45)

Without a doubt, "Everything Turns Grey" was Posh Boy's favorite production. Though hardly unsuccessful, Posh Boy was once again puzzled how this single did not become a hit on American radio. Ironically, it was the "B" side "Pipeline" that was to become a radio hit in Hawaii the following year.

Agent Orange: Eldorado b/w Interview PBS 30: AGENT ORANGE - Eldorado / Interview (45)(IP)

The original contract between Posh Boy and Agent Orange called for the group to record 12 selections for the label. As Posh Boy had rejected the group's 1981 recording of Secret Agent Man on account of the group's uninspired rendition, we took the position that the group still owed us one more recording even after we reached a settlement in 1986 of the larger dispute between us. So when in 1990 I found the group's original demo cassette in my cardbox box of submissions and heard for the first time the never released Eldorado, I called up Mike Palm and jokingly suggested to him that we dust off the recording and make it the 12th. Posh Boy Agent Orange recording. Fortunately for the fans, we worked out a deal and this single resulted!

Agent Orange: Living In Darkness PBCD 88122-2: AGENT ORANGE - Living In Darkness (CD)(IP)

The original CD release PBCD 122 dates from 1986 and was manufactured in Japan. This re-release dates from the late 80's and has not only the classic 1981 first recordings by legendary skateboarder faves Agent Orange but as well features long out-of-print recordings by Los Angeles group Symbol Six as bonus. Music featured in the punk rock episode of "21 Jump Street". Discontinued in 1992 when licensed to Rhino who removed the Symbol Six material and added additional A.O. material as bonus tracks.

Agent Orange: Bitchin' Summer PBS 1037: AGENT ORANGE - Bitchin' Summer (EP)

By the summer of 1982, the L.A. hardcore scene was already in decline. Record sales went south after the April 15 tax filing deadline, after which Daddy couldn't be as generous as before with those allowances that fueled record sales among Posh Boy's teenaged and pre-teen following; by mid-summer, cash-flow was extremely tight. Then Brian Elliot, owner of the studio where I did all my producing, came up with an interesting proposition : would I be interested in using credit he had obtained through barter for pressing 10,000 records at a plant in Hollywood? And since Brian was already being paid royally and directly by my distributor, he'd just collect the money he was owed for the records when they sold. Did I have something that needed pressing?  I did a little head scratching and came up with the idea to throw the out-takes from Agent Orange's Living In Darkness album and coupled them with all the surf songs the group had recorded, including an extended (by tape edit) version of Pipeline, a recording that Rodney Bingenheimer had declared Godhead. I broached the idea to the group and fortunately they went along with me to the extent that they didn't want anyone else doing the artwork so within days I had the mechanicals delivered from Fullerton, California. Needless to say, the record was a surprising success and established Agent Orange's credentials as a surf band, a whole different constituency from the mod/punk they had cultivated with Bloodstains. Oh yes, the group just hated the title Bitchin' Summer ...
